The Bald Cat
On a Saturday a mother and daughter came to Scooby to bring in their Persian cat. Better put it this way: what was left over from this once beautiful cat. Incredible how it is possible owners are able to neglect the care of an animal so heavily. The fur of this particular cat was one big knot of hair. On both sides of the body the poor animal had something that looked like an extra coat and it was possible to ´open and close´ this coat. Superfluous hair, so much and so knotted that it was impossible to comb, brush or anything. Also the cat was very depressed and showed no emotion or reaction on anything.
So, our vet decided to give the poor thing some anesthesia and during sleeping our volunteers Janneke and Carolina shaved all the hair.
Now the cat is much happier, shows emotions and joy. The new hair is growing and in a couple of weeks the cat will be a beautiful Persian again.
