Let's Party for Scooby!
On May 8th, my dear friend and long-time Scooby supporter, Daniela, celebrated her 40th birthday by having an Australian Night theme party. Now you will probably be asking yourself what this has got to do with Scooby. Well, a lot, actually because on the invitation she asked for donations to Scooby instead of presents! I thought you might like to know about this great idea. In addition to the benefits for Scooby, this is a pretty good way to avoid having to smile gratefully about a tasteless or completely useless gift, while wondering whom you could possibly give it to at the first opportunity. Sounds mean, I know, but we have all found ourselves in the same situation, I bet ;-)
Of course, we put German Scooby flyers on each table, so that guests could see for themselves what their money would be used for. The party was great fun, with everyone dancing, drinking fancy cocktails and meeting up with people they had not seen for a long time. There was not too much dancing and cocktail drinking for me, though, because my job was to take really good photos to be used in a DVD for the entertainer. Almost better than the party was the amount of money we raised for our beloved shelter – a total of 2355 euros! On the last photo you can see Dani being given her well-deserved thank-you kiss from me in the name of Scooby and all our animals. Thank you again, dear Dani, for having such a splendid idea. Our heartfelt thanks also go to all the guests who came to celebrate and help Scooby at the same time with their generous donations. By the way, Dani, I am already looking forward to your 50th birthday ;-)))
