Pet´s Day in Valladolid, 20th of June 2009 (Dià de la Mascota)
The event started early in the morning; it was a beautiful day. There were not many stands, but we were grateful for the amount of visitors that were interested in our shelter. Of course, this was mainly because of some of our Galgos that were present at this event.
Since Scooby is now able to be participate in more exhibitions, it is of much pleasure and very encouraging to see some people who are very loyal Scooby-stand visitors. Some of them do a lot of work in the back, they offer help to our regular volunteers that are on location and some just have a general interest in Scooby and enjoy visiting with us.
Señor Alberto who was at the Vetarinarian Congress in Madrid, the 2nd Galgowalk in Valladolid and visits our shelter at Scooby´s annual visitor’s day, visited us again in Valladolid during Pet's Day.
There was also a Spanish lady who had been living in the US for a while and during her stay there she enjoyed her Greyhound. She was very much impressed with Scooby and was very touched and concerned about our Galgos. Little by little Scooby gains more and more “interest” by an increasing group of Spanish people. This gives us encouragement to know that our we can trust on solid international relief. This is quite a supporting and satisfactory view for our future. It is because of the interest of these dedicated individuals, who do various work for Scooby, that we are able to take care of our animals.
In the afternoon we got a great surprise from María Rosa. She´s active in the Ayuntamiento (city council) in Valladolid. Together with her colleagues she demonstrated, with help of several breeds of dogs, how very suitable dogs can be as pets. This was a totally unexpected that she invited our Galgos to join this demonstration. This gave our dogs a tremendous chance to prove how very, very much Galgos are suitable as pets and companions. María Rosa and colleagues, thank you very, very much!!!
